Abstract (EN)
Cirsium species are widely used in traditional medicine in every region it grows. In this study, the antioxidant capacity of different extracts of Cirsium macrobotrys was evaluated using free radical removal activity DPPH (67.10-72.83 mg TE/g extract)and ABTS (107.84-128.48 mg TE/g extract), FRAP (82.72-102.06 mg TE/g extract), CUPRAC (142.27-194.88 mg TE/g extract), metal chelating activity (19.16-35.71 mg EDTAE/g extract) and phosphomolybdate methods (1.31-1.73 mmol TE/g extract). The total phenolic content of extracts varies between 39.01-45.15 mg GAE/g extract ratios, the total flavonoid content of extracts varies between 6.03-28.15 mg RE/g extract ratios and total phenolic acid content of extracts varies between 5.97-12.83 mg CE/g extract ratios. In enzyme inhibition activities, acetylcholinesterase inhibition was determined between 8.86-10.53 mg GALAE/g extract ratios, butyrylcholinesterase inhibition between 1.30-1.61 mg GALAE/g extract ratios, tyrosinase inhibition between 123.60-204.80 mg KAE/g extract ratios, amylase inhibition between 0.08-0.56 mmol ACAE/g extract ratios and glucosidase inhibition between 10.33-16.58 mmol ACAE/g extract ratios was determined.Tests of total phenolic content, total flavonoids content, DPPH, CUPRAC, FRAP and glucosidase inhibition achieved the highest result in ultrasonication-assisted extraction method. Tests of ABTS, metal chelation, phosphomolibdat and butylcholinesterase inhibition achieved the highest result in homogenizer-assisted extraction method. Acetylcholinesterase inhibition and tyrosine inhibition tests have obtained the highest results from infusion extraction method. While the amylase inhibition test achieved the highest result from the soxlet extraction method, the total phenolic acid content test achieved the highest result from the maseration extraction method. Rate of antioxidant and enzyme inhibition activity have shown that C. macrobotrys can be used in fields of food and pharmacology.
