The role of the values education provided by the families and schools to kids in terms of reducing the common usage of bad words – cusswords

The bad words- cuss words are the expressions that are not being accepted in society and are believed to be used to humiliate other people. However; it can be seen that from every walk of life from youngsters to elder people, these words are being used. Being undeniably the keystone of everyday life, these words are creating serious problems day by day and becoming widespread. This study analyzes the reasons for using bad words- cuss words within the scope of teacher and guardian perspective. The purpose of this study is to detect the reasons for using bad words- cuss words of children and to provide solutions to decrease this problem within the context of values education provided by families and schools. In this qualitative research, the phenomenological type is being preferred. The study group of the research is being determined by using convenience sampling within purposeful sampling methods. The study group consists of 50 teachers working for different government institutions in different districts of Trabzon and Rize and 25 guardians reside in different districts of Trabzon and Rize. The data is collected by using a semi-structured interview and tabulated through descriptive analysis. The result of this study indicates that the usage of bad words- cuss words among children is accepted to be worrisome behavior, it's becoming widespread day by day with the increased usage of technology, it's being normalized and accepted as a part of daily communication, it can be decreased with the supervision, attention and well-informed attitudes of family and the values education provided by the schools.
