Abstract (EN)

Objectıve: The aim of our study is to investigate whether there is a relationship between the level of cerebrospinal fluid pressure and clinical and magnetic resonance findings in patients with idiopathic intracranial hypertension. Materıal And Method: The patients, aged 6-18 followed and treated with idiopathic intracranial hypertension diagnosis, were analyzed retrospectively at Karadeniz Technical University Medical Faculityin The Departman of Pediatri between November 2015-2020. Thirty children, diagnosed with idiopathic intracranial hypertension, were included in this study. They divided into two group according to CSF pressure. Both groups were examined acording to whether there was any differences,in terms of the radiological findings and in clinical findings. Results: Thirty chilren, diagnosed with idiopathic intracranial hypertension, were included in this study. Twenty of these patients were female (%66,7) and 10 of them (%33.7) were male. Age average of the patients was 11.8 years. The patients'average CSF pressure was 363,8 mmH2O (200 mmH2O-1090 mmH2O). The first group was consisting 14 persons (%46,7) and the second group was consisting of 16 persons (%53,3). As body mass index average of the patients in the group 1 was 23,3±7,264 and was 27 ± 7,694 in the group 2. It was observed that the patients in group 2 were overweight. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of cranial MRI findings and clinical findings compared. Conclusıon: As a result of our study, we could not find a relationship between the increase in CSF pressure values and the cranial findings and clinical findings of idiopathic intracranial hypertension.
