Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study the verb and making the verb that is in Codex Cumanicus which is one of the most important works of Turkish language and cultural history have been tried to be put forth. Kaare Grønbech?s Komanisches Wörterbuch, Türkischer Wortindex zu Codex Cumanicus were based on in this study. All the verbs taken place in Codex Cumanicus were specified and classified as stem and derived verbs. These verbs were conveyed with examples of words and sentences relating to their meanings. Page number of Kaare Grønbech?s dictionary was also shown in the paranthesis next to the action. It was tried to be ascertained the history of verbs, the position and field of Turkish Languages and old Kipchak Turkic Language`s dictionary and grammar. Also the verbs witnessed in these languages were given comparatively as they exist. In stem verbs, explanations related to source of field and verbs in etymological dictionaries were made. In derived-verbs the positions of stems, the development of derived-verbs, modes of deriving and scheme on deriving types were shown through the sources also given places to the different ideas when necessary. Moreover, suffixes that make derivations and their functions were indicated, too. The thesis study consists of three parts as stem-verbs, suffixes which derive verbs from nouns, that of verbs. In the introduction part of the thesis, subject, aim, coverage of the thesis, the methods followed, and sources used in it were stated. In addtition, Kipchak history, Kipchak Turks, The Golden Horde, Mamluk Sultanate, the content and language of Codex Cumanicus, the study done on Codex Cumanicus so far and explanations of other Kipchak dictionary and grammar knowledge took place in it.
