Abstract (EN)

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a system that brings together geographical and non-geographical data and ensures that these data are collected, managed and interpreted in a planned manner (Meaden and Aguilar-Manjarrez, 2013;8-9). GIS is used in many fields. Some of those; cartography, logistics, electricity distribution network management, health, disaster management and similar fields. Energy sources are classified as renewable and non-renewable energy sources according to their use; According to their recyclability, they are classified as primary and secondary energy sources. In this study, the effects of GIS on electrical energy production and demands were investigated using Delphi technique. Delphi technique is the process of obtaining the common views of a selected expert group with a rational approach. In the first round of this study, open-ended questions prepared on the subject were sent to the experts and their opinions were taken. 15 questions prepared for competency areas were sent to academicians who have studies on 'GIS and Electrical Energy' in Turkey and abroad, and experts working in companies operating in the energy sector. In the first round, 9 people answered. According to the answers given in the first round, survey questions were prepared for the second round. The questionnaire in the second round was evaluated with a Likert scale. The second round Delphi questionnaire consisted of a total of 15 proficiency areas and 222 proficiency criteria, and a total of 8 responses were received. As a result of the second round Delphi survey conducted in Turkey, consensus was achieved on 167 proficiency criteria, while consensus was reached on 156 proficiency criteria as a result of the survey applied to Europe. Accordingly, there was no need to go to the 3rd round. The findings obtained within the scope of the research were found by analyzing with the SPSS program. According to the results of the research, the effects of GIS and the current situation in electricity energy production and demand in Turkey and Europe have been revealed. In addition, a model has been created for future research and an applicable content has been tried to be presented to researchers who will work in this field.
