Abstract (EN)
Rock spaces are formed by carving into the rocks that take the form of geological tuff formations under the influence of wind and flood waters and providing spatial function. These areas, which date back to prehistory and still exist today, are important cultural heritage sites. In this master's thesis, it is aimed to create a natural and cultural landscape inventory by considering the rock spaces together with the close surroundings. In this context, it is of utmost importance that the inventory is developed with advanced technological facilities within the scope of basic elements such as protection, usage, promotion and compliance with scientific research purposes. The rock spaces of Kusura Village of Afyonkarahisar province, which was determined as the study area, were discovered for the first time on 12.04.2018 and within the scope of this master thesis, the spatial inventory of 7 rock sites and their surroundings was aimed to be created with the support of Geographical Information Systems (GIS). For this purpose, in the light of previous research, field visits were made, data related to the site were collected in different sources and formats. As a result, it is envisaged to create a spatial database for all archaeological research, excavation, drilling, restoration, landscape planning, management and design studies to be established in this prospective space with the inventory obtained and to provide added value to multidisciplinary study stakeholders.
