Özet (EN)

Classical Turkish poetry, which constitutes an important phase of Turkish literature, emerged under the influence of Arabic and Persian literature and survived by using many sources. While analysing the classical Turkish poetry, the scope of the words should be evaluated in a contextual manner, taking into account the interaction of Arabic, Persian and Turkish elements. For example; the mazmuns, which can be described as one of the most important elements of the poem in question, were formed under the influence of Arabs and Persians. However, mazmuns have been subjected to a change by being processed with the native materials in the hand of the Turkish poet. One of this native language material is idioms, which are an important part of Turkish vocabulary. Idioms, which can be considered as one of the important sources that form the basis of classical Turkish poetry, have been used in many ways in the medium of Divan poetry and have gone beyond their accepted meaning in daily language. Many idioms in the Turkish language have concrete elements, but in daily use, abstract meanings of idioms have taken place rather than concrete elements. In the idiom usages of classical poets, it is seen that the concrete meanings of the idioms are revealed as well as their abstract meanings. The study, which was revealed by scanning 51 divans selected from classical Turkish poetry, consists of two parts. In the first part, the importance of idioms in language, the ways in which idiom usage in literary language differs from daily language and which arts were used in idiom usages of classical Turkish poets were explained. In the second part, the meanings of the idioms that were the subject of the study in the context of classical Turkish poetry were listed alphabetically under various categories and it was revealed that the poets' use of idioms can be evaluated in the context of polysemy. In this part, the way in which classical Turkish poets resorted to revealing the concrete elements within the idioms that express abstract meaning in daily language, and which arts and metaphors they used were explained through sample couplets.
