Evaluation of OECD member states with health indicators using multi critical decision making methods

The most important factor in the way that individuals can live their lives happily is "being healthy". Health services are the most fundamental elements that determine the level of economic and social welfare and development of an individual. States are working to disseminate and improve health services in order to ensure economic development and to educate healthy individuals who act rationally. In evaluating the success of a health policy in a country, it is of utmost importance to look at health services and the level of health of the population, and to compare their changes over the years to make cross-country comparisons. In this study, it is aimed to make use of the health indicators of the OECD member countries and compare the ranking of the countries and the health indicators of Turkey compared to other countries. For this purpose, the health indicators to be used in the study of the problem have been considered as evaluation criteria and derived from the data that can adequately represent the decision problem and which can demonstrate the variability between all countries. In order to rank the countries according to their health indicators, VIKOR and TOPSIS methods, which are very criteria decision making tools, have been used. In the study, 34 countries were members of the OECD; The ranking of Turkey in terms of the private sector, public and per capita health expenditures, birth and death rates, doctors, nurses / midwives, beds and the number of sanitation facilities in an integrated structure are compared and compared to other countries.
