Examining the different effects of multi sport games

Multi-sport games are an organized sports event, usually involving national teams and competing in various sports. In order to adapt to the large number of events organized, it can be held for several weeks, longer than a single sport event. Cultural heritage, on the other hand, is a social phenomenon that emerges when people use their past, ideas and cultural identities to define their culture. It is also addressed as abstract and tangible heritage. In this context, the aim of our research is to develop and implement the "Multi-sport Games Impact Scale" to examine the social, political, economic, environmental and sports effects of multi-sport games and to examine their different effects in terms of demographic variables. The research is in the screening model and consists of scale development and implementation of the developed scale. The universe of the research consists of individuals who attended the 23rd Summer Deaflympics held in Samsun in 2017 and the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya in 2022 as spectators. The sample of the study consists of 574 individuals who were selected by simple random sampling method from among those who attended the relevant organizations as spectators. As data collection tools; "Personal information form" consisting of 7 questions to determine the socio-demographic characteristics of the participants and "Multi-Sport Games Impact Scale" consisting of 30 questions and 6 sub-dimensions in 5-point Likert format developed during the research process. Demographic characteristics of the participants were summarized as frequency and percentage. T test, correlation test and ANOVA test were performed for statistical variables. In addition, the magnitude of the parameters showed correlation. Statistical significance level was accepted as p<0.05. A significant difference was found in the participants' positive environment sub-dimension and total score averages according to their gender, in the Multi-Sport Games Impact Scale sub-dimension and total score averages according to the province where the competitions were held, in the sub-dimension and total score averages outside the negative environment sub-dimension of the Multi-Sport Games Impact Scale sub-dimension, according to the variable of the province where the competitions were held, in the sub-dimensions outside the positive and negative environment sub-dimensions according to their occupational status, in the sub-dimensions outside the negative environment and total score averages according to the variable of participation in multi-sports. According to the age variable and the total and sub-dimensions of the Multi-Sport Games Impact Scale; a low and positive relationship was found between "age" and "social", a low and positive relationship between "age" and "politics", a low and negative relationship between "age" and "sports", a low and negative relationship between "age" and "economy", and a low and negative relationship between "age" and "scale total" scores. As a result, it has been seen that the multi-sport games impact scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool, and as a result of the application of the "Multi-sport Games Impact Scale", the social, sports, political, economic, positive environmental and negative environmental factors of these games have an impact on the people living in the city.
