Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of core trainings on the kinematic values of 200- meter freestyle swimming technique. A total of 20 athletes voluntarily participated in the study. The participants were divided into two groups of 10 each using the convenience sampling method: the experimental group (age; 11.8±0.42) and the control group (age; 10.6±0.69). Measurements of all athletes were recorded before and after the 12-week core training program. The experimental group performed core exercises in addition to swimming training twice a week, whereas the control group continued only with their swimming training and did not engage in core exercises. The data obtained in the study showed a normal distribution. Therefore, a two-way mixed-model ANOVA test was used for data analysis. According to the study results, there was a significant difference in stroke count, underwater distance, and time performance (p<0.05), whereas no significant difference was observed in the variable of flight distance (p>0.05). It was concluded that core trainings contributed positively to kinematic values such as stroke count and underwater distance and positively impacted the performance of the athletes, but did not have any effect on flight distance.
