Abstract (EN)

The demand for electrical machines and energy industry is grow up by development of technology. Accordingly, the use of transformers, one of the electrical devices that convert AC electrical energy to another AC electrical energy at a defined frequency using electromagnetic induction, is grown significantly. In this study, transformer design parameters were optimized using the Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm (MOGA) technique to minimize the manufacturing cost of a 25 kVA, 33/0.4 kV, Yzn11, oil type distribution transformer by decreasing the weight of the significant materials. Electromagnetic analysis of the transformer is performed with ANSYS Maxwell biased on the results obtained from optimization study to verify the design procedures. The experimental design parameters are compared by the optimization results. It is observed that more desired results are achieved when Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm optimization method is applied to more than one transformer design parameter.
