Water mites (Acari: Hydrachinidia) fauna of Çotla Plateau (Genç-Bingöl)

In this study, water mites (Acari, Hydrachnidia) specimens collected from Çotla Plateau (Genç-Bingöl) in 2022-2023 were evaluated and 49 species belonging to 12 families were identified. Of these, Kongsbergia (s. str.) bingolensis n. sp. and Trichothyas (Neothyas) ermani n. sp. are new for the science. Family Lethaxonidae Cook, Smith and Harvey, 2000, genus Lethaxonia K. Viets, 1932, Lethaxonia pygmaea K. Viets, 1932 and are new records for the Turkish fauna. In addition, families Hydrovolziidae Thor, 1905 and Feltriidae K. Viets, 1926 and Hydrovolzia cancellata Walter, 1906; Trichothyas (Lundbladia) petrophila (Michael, 1895); Protzia halberti Walter, 1920; Protzia knaepleae Oezkan, 1982; Sperchon (Hispidosperchon) beckeri Bader and Sepasgozarian, 1984; Sperchon (Sperchon) thienemanni Koenike, 1907; Bandakia concreta Thor, 1913; Nilotonia (Dartia) vietsi Bader & Sepasgozarian, 1980; Lebertia (Mixolebertia) sefvei Walter, 1911; Lebertia (Brentalebertia) anatolica Esen and Dilkaraoglu, 2013; Torrenticola (s. str.) elliptica Maglio, 1909; Torrenticola (s. str.) oraviensis Láska, 1953; Atractides (s. str.) glandulosus (Walter, 1918); Atractides (s. str.) rivalis Lundblad, 1956; Hygrobates (s. str.) anatolicus Esen and Pešić, 2013; Feltria (Feltria) minuta Koenike, 1892; Aturus (s. str.) crinitus Thor, 1902; Aturus (s. str.) rotundus Romijn, 1921; Ljania macilenta Koenike, 1908; Konsbergia (s. str.) materna Thor, 1899 were recorded for the first time from Bingöl Province.
