Abstract (EN)

With the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic in Wuhan, China in 2019, its impact around the world has continued to this day. The pandemic has caused many negative consequences in social and economic terms. In this study, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on SMEs is examined in line with scientific reports and field studies. The effect of the pandemic on the sectors was examined and revealed as a result of the interviews with the affected sector managers in Yalova Province. As a result of the interview made in this context, the impact of the pandemic on SMEs was evaluated in the context of sectoral and employment. With this research, the negative effects that occur in SMEs are stated and the precautions to be taken are mentioned. As a result of the research, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on employment and job loss on SMEs were reached. It has been observed that many SMEs have been adversely affected by the pandemic, although it differs by sector, but some SMEs have increased their investments by turning this situation into an opportunity, and methods such as remote working and short-term working have been actively used by SMEs.
