Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to determine the effect of fear of Covid-19 on anxiety and postpartum depression in puerperant women. This descriptive, crosssectionalstudy was conducted online on 110 puerperant women who were served in a public hospital between December 2021 and May 2022 and were between 2-4 weeks postpartum. Data were collected using the personal data collection form, the fear of Covid-19 scale, the Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7 (GAD 7) and the Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale (EPDS). In the analysis of the data, minimum-maximum values, percentages and numbers were given, and the relationship between scale scores was examined using Pearson correlation analysis. Logistic regression analysis was performed to determine the factors affecting postpartum depression. The mean age of women is 29.98±5.62. Covid-19 was diagnosed in 13.60% of the participating pregnant women and a relative of the pregnant women in 69.10% of the pregnant women. It was determined that 73.60% of the participants in the study had the coronavirus vaccine. It was determined that the prevalence of postpartum depression was 30.90% and 18.20% of them were at risk of Generalized Anxiety Disorder. The mean score of the fear ofCovid-19 scale was determined as 14.27±6.55. As a result, it was determined that the increase in the GAD-7 scale score increased the postpartum depression and the increase in the Covid-19 fear scale score increased the postpartum depression.
