Evaluation of the social perspective to aquarium hobby during the covid-19 pandemic: Tunceli example

In this research, in Tunceli province, it was aimed to determine the interest of people to aquarium hobby which is in the most popular hobbies in the world, by examining that the people living in the central district of Tunceli have what kind of knowledge about aquarium hobby and was/are actively interested in or not; and have their general views on this subject. For this purpose, people living in Tunceli province were taken as samples and a face-to-face survey was applied to this selected sample. Some questions about actively interested in aquarium hobby and the knowledge levels in this hobby have been asked, together with the effects of coronavirus (covid-19) pandemic. In the first part of the survey, the effects of the covid-19 pandemic on people's lives was tried to be evaluated and in the second part, it was investigated the starting process and reason of people for aquarium hobby, the relation between hobby and economic status, the knowledge levels and following of the current affairs about hobby, presence of a social network using by aquarist, follow-up of the globally organizations, and the awaring of the general truths about this hobby. The data was organized and interpreted with the help of necessary analyses and investigations. As a result, it has been observed that approximately 22% of the participants are interested in this hobby; approximately 78% of them have no interest in; and the general knowledge level about it is so low. Approximately 88% of people who are interested in aquarium hobby do this hobby at home and 7% at work. The rate of those who think to realize this hobby in a commercial sense is around 4%. When the statistics among those who are interested in the aquarium hobby are evaluated in general, it is seen that people who are under the age of 21, undergraduate, single civilized, income level of 5,000-7,000 TL, household population over 5, women and current students are more It has been concluded that the aquarium hobby can be increased throughout the province and some activities can be organized for this purpose, by raising awareness about aquariums and the alternatives in the world they contain (plants, other living species and even aquarium structures that can be waterless, that cannot be limited to only fish).
