Abstract (EN)

The Covid-19 pandemic, which originated in China, has caused an unforeseen crisis that has affected the entire world. Like other sectors, the construction industry, which plays an important role in economic development, has also been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The aim of this study, thesis, or article is to determine the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the construction industry worldwide, based on 108 studies conducted between 2020 and 2023. The 108 preliminary studies were examined in 15 categories. The study revealed that problems such as cost and price increases, partial or complete project suspensions, an increase in unemployment rates, and a decrease in the economy have occurred, and there has been an increase in demand for standalone, prefabricated, garden, and bungalow houses. In addition, it is considered beneficial to prepare emergency plans, increase the use of technology such as wearable sensory devices, prepare credit support programs, and utilize low-interest rates as incentives. As a result of the examinations conducted within this scope, this study is important in terms of planning actions that can be applied in a similar extraordinary pandemic situation, determining the precautions that can be taken before or after, developing a perspective for the future, and identifying solution methods taking into account all the results.
