Özet (EN)

In certain periods of history, epidemics that threatened humanity emerged. Many of these diseases lasted for years. Covid-19 is a respiratory disease that emerged in Wuhan, Hubei province of China in December 2019. When it spread rapidly from person to person and spread all over the world, it was accepted and declared as a "pandemic" by the World Health Organization in March 2020. After the first Covid-19 case was announced by the Ministry of Health on March 10, 2020, it started to spread rapidly in our country. The aim of this study is to examine the data on Crimes Against Persons (intentional killing, intentional injury, sexual assault and threat), Crimes Against Property (theft and property damage) and Crimes Against the State and Nation (embezzlement, bribery, extortion) committed in 2020-2021, when the Covid-19 pandemic was effective, and 2018-2019, the pre-Covid-19 period, and to reveal the pandemic effect on the data. In the examination to be made, the crimes under the specified crime titles will be examined in terms of demographic characteristics (age, occupation, gender, nationality, marital status and education level of the perpetrator) and the time of the crimes. The data to be used in the study are data on the crimes of intentional killing, intentional injury, sexual assault, threat, theft, property damage, embezzlement, bribery and extortion that occurred in the Gendarmerie General Command area of responsibility in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. Apart from the mentioned crimes, other crimes committed in the Gendarmerie responsibility area and crimes committed in the Police area are outside the scope of this study.
