Because of the COVID 19 pandemy and to strengten the immune system, the use of food supplements containing propolis in OUR country and in other countries and the inspection process steps

COVID-19 has been first observed in China, and in a short time, this outbreak has quickly surrounded the whole World. This lead WHO to declare the COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic. Large number of people died and damage that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused showed that, there's a very quick need to find treatments and they should have been approved as safe and able to inhibit the new coronavirus, reduce its infectivity, and propriate the symptoms of infection. Because propolis flavonoids have many antiviral effects, so in terms of the antiviral mechanism, it has been seen as a very potential research object in the fight against COVID-19 outbreaked in 2019. Bees make Propolis as a natural product from resins and bioactive plant parts and it is already extensively consumed in different regions of the World. With plant species source and other factors, chemical composition and biological activities of raw propolis vary. Other factors that varies the characteristics of propolis are; bee species, environmental factors as climate characteristics, the time and technique of harvest and also with the extraction method and solvent used. Propolis composition gives the clues to standardisation. Generally propolis includes polyphenols (flavonoids, phenolic acids etc.) phenolic aldehydes, ketones. Laboratory investigations and studies have documented a wide range of biological activities which are; antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic, wound healing, anti-inflamatory, antioxidant, antimycotic, antiulcer, anticancer, and immunomodulatory properties. The extraction methods can effect the last product properties, as different solvents can solve and extract different components. As a food supplement, the regulations about propolis of different countries have been viewed. The safety of propolis and food supplements derived from propolis is very important for consumers. Factors that ensure food supplement safety are national regulations, HACCP, good beekeepers practices and so on.
