Abstract (EN)
1- Introduction and Aim: The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact all over the world and has affected all aspects of social, economic and cultural life. Even if it affects all people in different ways, COVID-19 has particularly affected healthcare workers at the forefront of combating the pandemic. Healthcare personel not only endangered their individual health while fighting the pandemic, but also had to face and combat many negativities psychologically. 2- Material and Method: Within the scope of the study, questionnaires were applied to a total of 200 healthcare professionals, 100 of whom are high-risk employees and 100 of whom are low-risk employees, in order to evaluate the mental effects of the work during the COVID-19 outbreak, and the results were evaluated. The scales used during the research are; Beck Depression Scale, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, Perceived Stigma Scale, Perceived Social Support Scale, General Self-Efficacy Scale, Brief Resilience Scale, Somatization Scale, Maslach Burnout Scale, Post Traumatic Stress Impact Disorder Scale, Perception of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Scale. 3- Findings and Results: As a result of the study, Beck Depression Scale scores, Perceived Stigma Scale scores, General Self-Efficacy Scale scores, Emotional Exhaustion, Depersonalization, and General Self-efficacy scores, which are the subscales of Maslach Burnout Scale, were found to be higher in high-risk health workers than low-risk health workers. When the Perceived Social Support, Brief Resilience, Somatization Scale, Effect of Events Scale, and Perceived Stress Scale scores were compared, no significant difference was found aimed to examine the psychological effects of COVID-19 on healthcare workers. There is a significant and positive correlation between Maslach Burnout Scale total score and Emotional Burnout subdomain, Depersonalization subdomain, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Scale score, Perceived Stigma Scale score and Somatization Scale score. The correlation between the Perceived Stigma Scale score and the level of contact was found to be significant and negative. There is a significant and negative correlation between the General Self-Efficacy Scale score and the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Scale score. In future studies, the long-term mental health effects of healthcare professionals during the pandemic period can be investigated.
