Abstract (EN)

The sharing of domestic responsibilities shows an uneven distribution in societies where there is inequality in gender roles. The health field, where the perception of sexist professions is monitored, has faced an extraordinary increase in workload as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Taking responsibility simultaneously in work life and at home has made the Covid-19 pandemic even more challenging for women health workers. This study investigates the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the domestic responsibilities of health personnel and how this effect is affected by the pre-pandemic period and the pandemic period in the context of gender perception. The thesis consists of a total of four parts. In the first part, the definition and history of epidemics were discussed, and then the Covid-19 pandemic was discussed in private for health workers. In the second section, conceptual and theoretical information about the "family" is given and the theoretical framework is completed by referring to which areas are affected in the framework of gender and gender concepts, the perception of sexist professions and the concepts of the second shift. In the third section, the research data and findings were interpreted, and in the fourth section, the study was completed by giving the result. As a result of the survey study, the average scores of health workers' age, gender, professional experience, occupational group, income, number of children, child caregiver preference, place of birth and work status of the spouse were found to be statistically significant. It has been determined that the frequency of problems between spouses increased during the pandemic period, but did not show a gender difference Decisively. Housework and childcare roles were not affected by the pandemic, so the change in caring responsibilities and family roles before the pandemic and during the pandemic period was not found to be statistically significant.
