Abstract (EN)

The purpose of our study is to evaluate the Covid-19 pandemic and previous applications to our pediatric emergency clinic, to observe how the Covid-19 pandemic affects the functioning of the emergency room, as well as to reveal the difference between the two periods and to ensure that the results we find while planning the child emergency service are taken into consideration. In this study, the diagnoses and examinations of a total of 52675 patients aged 0-18 who applied to the Bezmialem Vakıf University Department of Pediatrics Emergency Clinic in two periods of 6 months between 1 May - 31 October 2019 and 1 May - 31 October 2020 , triage groups and epidemiological characteristics were compared retrospectively. When the two periods were compared with each other, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the age groups, application times, triage, examination and diagnosis status of the patients who applied to the emergency service (p <0.05).
