Abstract (EN)
This research was conducted in a descriptive and cross-sectional type in order to examine the relationship between the burnout and anxiety levels of nurses and their coping attitudes in the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was carried out online between 09.02.2022 and 09.04.22 with 344 nurses working in Konya Necmettin Erbakan University Meram Medical Faculty Hospital and voluntarily accepted to participate in the study. The data of the study were collected using the Informed Consent Form, Sociodemographic Information Form, Short Form of Burnout Scale, Short Form of the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale and Coping Attitudes Assessment Scale in order to inform the participants ethically and to obtain their consent. Statistics of the study were made using IBM SPSS V25 with mean, standard deviation, median, Mann Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis H test, Dunn test, Spearman rank correlation. The mean age of the nurses was 30.83±5.14, 65.4% (225) were female and 34.6% (119) were male. When their marital status is evaluated, 45.3% (156) of them are single and 54.7% are married. It was determined that female nurses experienced more anxiety and burnout than male nurses. When the educational status of the nurses was examined, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference between postgraduate graduates and women in the assessment of anxiety, burnout and coping attitudes (p<0.05). According to the income status of the nurses, the burnout of the nurses whose income is less than their expenses was found to be higher. In addition, it was determined that there was a positive and significant relationship between the coping attitudes of the participants and their anxiety and burnout levels (p<0.05). It is recommended that the obtained data be used as a resource to improve the work and living conditions of nurses in the pandemic and post-pandemic period and studies should be conducted with larger sample groups.
