Abstract (EN)
The Covid-19 virüs, which first appeared in the People's Republic of China in December, the last month of 2019 and spread rapidly all over the world, deeply affected all economic activities along with human health. In this process, while the demand for the health sector increased, the demand for the food sector remained normal, while the demand for other goods and services generally tended to decrease.At the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, there was a demand shock followed by a supply shock all over the world. In this respect, the Covid-19 epidemic has been described as a crisis due to its social, political and economic negative effects. The Covid-19 pandemic has affected developed and developing countries in different ways. It is expected to affect the Turkish economy, which is grouped in the developing countries class, and the macroeconomic indicators, which are indicators of the economy, in different ways. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic on the Turkish economy through macroeconomic indicators. For this purpose, the monthly data of 10 macroeconomic indicators for the period of 2017-2021 were taken and their course before and during the pandemic process was analyzed using the trend analysis technique. These economic indicators are gross domestic product (growth), consumer price index, exchange rates, loan and deposit rates, employment and unemployment rates, industrial production index, credit volume, external debts, budget revenues and expenditures, budget deficit and import-export and foreign is the trade deficit. As a result of the study, it was determined that the growth slowed down during the pandemic process, inflation increased, exchange rates increased, deposit interest rates and loan interest rates increased, unemployment increased, the industrial production index decreased, the credit volume continued to increase, but its pace slowed down, the budget deficits increased and the foreign trade deficit continued to widen. has been done. These effects of the Covid-19 pandemic are clearly observed especially in March, April and June of 2020.
