The study aimed to determine the situation by focusing on the compassion fatigue of the nurses in Covid 19 clinic in state hospitals during the pandemic. The study analyzes the relationship between Covid 19, a type of biological disaster, and compassion fatigue of nurses working in the Covid 19 clinic. In the research; the content analysis perspective of the qualitative research method was used to understand and analyze the relationship between the Covid 19 phenomenon and the compassion fatigue of the nurses who actually participated in the treatment process. In this context, 18 nurses working in the Covid 19 clinic were interviewed. A semi- structured form about compassion fatigue was prepared, and then 16 questions were asked to the nurses included in the sample. In the study, it was determined that the compassion fatigue of nurses working in the Covid 19 clinic tended to increase. In addition, it was found that more than half of the nurses interviewed were exposed to advanced compassion fatigue. It was observed that the following variables were effective in the increase of compassion fatigue. Nurses empathize with the patients they care and treat during the Covid 19 epidemic, patients suffer a lot, patients are in need of care, young patient deaths, nurses witness the last moments of patients, uncertainties in the treatment process of patients, some patients cannot recover, patients' mood, death fear etc. As a result, suggestions were made about what kind of contribution can be provided to nurses from the hospital and social environment and which individual strategies can be applied.
