Yabancı dil olarak Fransızca dilbilgisi öğretiminde zeki öğretim sistemi oluşturulması ve etkililiğinin değerlendirilmesi

This research aimed to determine the effects of using an intelligent tutoring system (ITS) for teaching French grammar, highlighting learners' motivation, satisfaction, and opinions on this pedagogical practice. The research was conducted during the fall semester of the 2023-2024 academic year and was limited to the B1 level, with participants being 30 learners who had chosen the compulsory course "French Grammar I". A mixed-methods study was conducted to achieve the objectives of this research. More specifically, we used the explanatory sequential design to guide our research. The ITS we created operates on the logic of a decision tree. The ITS detects learners' lack of knowledge through branching. The researcher previously determined the change of branch according to the answer and the action that the AI will have to perform in specific cases. Based on the results, we can say that learning French grammar with an ITS had a significant effect on achievement scores and is therefore an effective way to learn French grammar. The use of ITS also had significant effects on learner motivation and learner satisfaction with the use of ITS is significantly high. According to our results, the use of ITS in French grammar courses is an effective way to help each learner individually without leaving any learner behind, whether they learn quickly or slowly.
