Abstract (EN)

In this study, Güneş Dil Teorisi, which has an important place among the Republican Language Discussions, is examined. This study deals with the theory that emerged in the Republican Era starting from the Tanzimat Period. In the first part of this research, the emergence of the Turkish language, the development of the Turkish language, the process of simplification of the Turkish language and the activities carried out in this field are examined. In the first stage of the study, the main reasons related to the emergence of the Güneş Dil Teorisi were evaluated. According to our research, taking into consideration the impact of the nationalization process with the French Revolution on the Ottoman Empire, Tanzimat Period language studies and II. The period until the Constitutional Monarchy was examined. In the second part of the study, the social and political process which forms the basis of the Güneş Dil Teorisi is examined. The reflection of the Turkism movement which developed in the Ottoman Empire with the effect of nationalization on the Turkish language was discussed. In addition, after the First World War the Republic of Turkey's adoption of the Latin alphabet and language studies revealed is described. In the third and last part of the study, the activities carried out by Türk Tarihi Tedkik Cemiyeti and Türk Dili Tetkik Cemiyeti on Turkish were examined. Finally, the positive and negative aspects of the Güneş Dil Teorisi were evaluated. As a result, it was concluded that the Güneş Dil Teorisi was successful in theory but failed in practice.
