Abstract (EN)
A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCIENCE CURRICULA IN TERMS OF CONTENT DURING REPUBLICAN ERA The aim of this study is to compare the changes in the content of primary and secondary school science curriculums from the Republic's announcement to the present day. For this purpose, it is thought that it will be a descriptive resource that shows all contents of the science curriculum applied in the Republican period. The data of the study were collected through a document review, which is one of the methods of collecting data in qualitative research. The universe of the study is all printed sources related to primary and secondary school programs in the Republican period; the sample consists of primary (the years 1926, 1936, 1948, 1968, 1992, 2000, 2005, 2013 and 2017) and secondary (the years 1930, 1938, 1951, 1973, 1992, 2000, 2005, 2013 and 2017) science curricula. According to the obtained findings, it has been observed that the understanding of creating content in teaching programs applied throughout the history of the Republic has not been included in the general sense. Because of this lack, the content has been increased by adding subjects to some teaching programs and the content has been reduced by removing subjects from some teaching programs. According to the results obtained from the study, it is suggested that the subjects with science content will be treated separately as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as they were in 1930, 1938 and 1951 science curriculum in secondary schools.
