Republic period defence industry policies

Defence industry is a part of development and industrialization no doubt. Even though Turkey is still a country that it's defence industry is improving, it is in a constructive improvement. This thesis study has prepared to observe the Republic Period defence industry policies. In the study, which is prepared by taking the process model as basis, the analyze of the defence industry policies from past to future has aimed. But the used process model approach is not the usual. Because, except the inputs and outputs of the political system; period's political, economic and military conditions, decide maker agencies and activations, the company which is active on defence industry, the defence industry which is present with institutions and organisations solutions has also considered. In the study, it is stated that the high technology products of defence industry could be produced under the protection of peace and awareness as of the geographical location of Turkey. However it is also stated that it's impossible to talk about the sufficiency and sustainability of a defence industry which does not stands on the national power. In this context, the breaking points which affects the improvement of Turk defence industry has detected. The conclusions concluded in the study generally are: The sustainability of Turk defence industry is depended on Turkey to determine the design and production strategies by counting it's defence industry as a essential factor of development. Therefore, in every condition it should be moved with the awareness that "unique" and "national" production in the field being talked about.
