The subject of the research is the life and works of İsmail Hakkı Yılanlıoğlu as a politician, army officer and author. In this study, the achievements and political endeavors of İsmail Hakkı Yılanlıoğlu have been reviewed and analysed. An overview of written Turkish history often reveals that many important and valuable figures have been forgotten in time. İsmail Hakkı Yılanlıoğlu deserves a special place in the history of Kastamonu by his efforts, services and achievements in various fields. The importance of this study can be considered to be its comprehensiveness in presenting altogether the works of poetry and authorship, as well as the commendable patriotic and democratic striving a Kastamonu local has shown in the Turkish Parliament.
