Abstract (EN)
The Democratic Party (DP) was established in January 1946 after Turkey's transition to a multi-party system following World War II. After a short time, various disputes arose within the DP, and accordingly, there were separations. The National Party (NP) was established in July 1948 by the majority of those who left the DP. On the National Party's closure in 1954, the Republican National Party (RNP) was established as its successor. When the Republican Nation Party and the Peasant Party of Turkey merged in November 1958, the Republican Peasants Nation Party (RPNP) emerged. The Republican Peasants Nation Party was able to continue its activities during the military coup of 27 May 1960 and took part in the works of the Constituent Assembly. As a result of the 15 October 1961 general election, it was elected to the National Assembly with 54 deputies. The Republican Peasants Nation Party, in the period 1961-1965, within the framework of the field of work of the National Assembly; expressed the ideas and proposals that it advocated in various ways, followed a policy according to the party program and tried to influence the work of Turkish Grand National Assembly. According to our findings, 70 law proposals, 96 oral and 79 written question proposals, 6 research commission proposals, 5 general interviews and 2 no-confidence motion and 1 provisional commission proposals were given by RPNP deputies. The party's activities, views and policies on internal issues, foreign policy, national defence, economy, energy, transportation, agriculture, law, national education, health and social policies came to the fore.
