Abstract (EN)
In this study, Turkish Education System at the beginning of Republic and Village Institutes are examined. The new formations which were formed in Tanzimat Era were handled to evaluate Turkish Education System from the historical development point of view. It was seen that the great importance was given to education for developing and modernizing the society by the help of Republic. Also, Village Institute played an important role in developing education system. Village Institutes are education institutions which have both educational and social functions. It was seen that Village Institute affected our education system by its establishment, structure and goals.
