Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to determine factors affecting export by sectors in Turkey. In this study, firstly the development of exchange rate systems and foreign trade theories in historical process are explained. In the second part of the study, firstly, Turkey's exchange rate system implemented since its establishment and development of these systems have been investigated. In the following section, foreign trade policies and foreign trade performance of the country are discussed in detail. In the third part of the study, there is a literature review examining the studies on the factors affecting foreign trade. In the following section, sectors are defined to examine the factors affecting export on a sectoral basis. The determination of sectors is based on the International Standard Industry Classification (ISIC Rev.3). As a result of the research, it was decided to analyze the motor vehicles, basic metals, wearing apparel and chemicals sectors. In this study, the factors affecting the export were analyzed for cointegration relations by using ARDL Bounds Test. In this study, monthly data between 2003:01-2019:08 where floating exchange rate system is applied in Turkey are used. According to the results of the study, the factors affecting the exportation of the sectors differ from each other in accordance with their internal dynamics.
