Analysis of saving tendency in terms of behavioral economy: Manisa province sample

The phenomenon of saving has had a great importance in the economy from the past to the present and various studies have been carried out on it. In the studies carried out to date, many models related to the savings function have been established and analyzes have been carried out. However, when we look at the studies on the savings phenomenon, it is seen that the mainstream economics is dominant and individuals are considered as rational people. In this study, the phenomenon of saving is examined from the perspective of behavioral economics, which states that individuals are affected by the society they live in, in other words, there are emotional, cognitive and social effects on the behavior of individuals. The concept of saving is one of the issues that the world economies focus on in order to ensure economic growth and development. From Turkey's point of view, the high consumption tendency and low saving tendency draw attention. The low savings problem, which has been dominant for many years, has brought along serious economic problems. As a matter of fact, since the hypotheses about saving ignore the behavior of the individual and that he is a social being, the phenomenon of saving, which has an important place in mainstream economics, has been examined from the perspective of behavioral economics, which combines economics and psychology.
