Kutadgu Bilig in terms of values education

Values are milestones underlying a society. They provided societies continuing their own existence and developing in many fields such as art, science, technology and health by being passed down with various ways until today. In this workout, Kutadgu Bilig one of the earliest performances Islamic Turkish Literature was evaluated with regards to values that remain importance in eyes of students, taking place in Values Education Instruction of Turkish Education Board and examined using this workout with the values education. In the detection of couplets, the workout called / named "Günümüz Türkçesi ile Kutadgu Bilig Uyarlaması" of Fikri Silahdaroğlu was utilized. In order to determine the value teaching methods and techniques used by the author, the text called Kutadgu Bilig, which was translated by Reşit Rahmeti Arat into Turkish, was utilized. Our ambition is to use 'Kutadgu Bilig' as a material in values education and to reveal that which techniques are utilized in values teaching of workout. First of all, it was given an entrance to research on the basis of notions such as 'Education' and 'Value' and by using these notions, detailed informations about 'Values Education', 'Family in the Values Education', 'School', 'Teacher', 'The role of literary works' and 'Functions and Role of Values' being our main topic were revealed. After that, the couplets of nineteen values that we examined by detected with 'Kutadgu Bilig' were analyzed while giving necessary informations about 'Yusuf Has Hacib' the owner of workout and historical process of 'Kutadgu Bilig'. After detection of values from workout, it was given information that examples of study techniques about using 'Kutadgu Bilig' as a material in religion and value education while detecting writer's techniques and methods in values teaching. In our workout, the descriptive analysis technique was utilized. The couplets that detected were written as charts and commented by taking the original one.
