Investigation of using Degirmisaz core of sheyl in tile production

In this study, clay which was taken from Güral A.Ş. and değirmisaz core of the sheyl were used. Study was taken into two parts. In the first part, sheyl was added to the recepies in a certain ratio. With testing its physo-mekanical properties, was found the best ratio and best temperature. After temperature and ratios were determined, in the second part, effects of sheyl was investigated on clay with different particular dimentions.As a conclution, at 12000C, pickling sheyls with % 25 ratio was given possitive results for waste management in factories. In the physical testes with different particular sizes of sheyls were given better results for dry, fired and total shrinkage and also water absorption and density.Keywords: Clay, Upper Coal, Sheyl, Tile.
