Abstract (EN)
Youth is a very important social category for understanding a society. Youth, which started to be discussed as a social category with the modernization movements, offers a very important human resource for change. The generation that creates a unique youth culture by being articulated with cultural practices such as traditions, values and beliefs before it is one of the key points of understanding youth and the period. Youth, one of the most important elements of developing countries, is one of the cornerstones of social development. The way to understand the youth is to understand the generation and generation is a phenomenon that has been built throughout history. In this context, the key role of the generation concept and the creation of a common worldview in youth are among the main characteristics of the generation. It is inevitable that there will be different generations of youth within the generation. The younger generation who reads is part of this diversity. It is one of the generation clusters within the belt. For this reason, the young generation of students coming from different cities to study at universities is very important for this thesis. Because universities are one of the places where more than one generation cluster comes together. For this purpose, the data of this thesis were created by using qualitative research methods and techniques. A partial youth culture was tried to be conveyed by participating, using observation and in-depth interview techniques. In the interviews held with 8 young people studying at university in Izmir, their life stories were collected and interpreted. At the same time, a field study was conducted in the social spaces where university youth spend time. However, this thesis covers only a group of university students. It does not aim to analyze the entire younger generation.
