ABSTRACT THE EFFECTS OF ORGANIC MATERIALS DIFFERENT IN ORIGIN ON AGGREGATE FORMATION AND STABILITY IN SOIL Erdem YILMAZ M.Sc. in Soil Science Adviser: Asst. Prof. Dr. Zeki ALAGÖZ May 2002, 93 pages In this research, the effect of organic materials different in origin on aggregat formation and stability in soil has been studied by applying to soil in three different dosages. Disturbed samples of surface soil, 0-25 cm, have been taken from Korkuluk Series of Mediterranean Red Soil in the state of University. Results obtained showed that effects of organic materials different in origin on aggregate formation and stability in soil have been different in terms of direction and levels for different aggregate sizes. It is thought that the formation and stability of aggregates in soils can be improved by the application of known organic materials. KEY WORDS: Aggregate, Aggregate Formation, Aggregate Stability, Soil Conditioners. COMMITTEE: Asst. Prof. Dr. Zeki ALAGÖZ Prof. Dr. Mustafa KAPLAN Prof. Dr. Lami KAYNAK n
