Abstract (EN)

In terms of geographical location, Bengal is a region in the eastern part of Indian subcontinent of South Asia where includes numerous historical and cultural riches. Bengal is located at the tapering part of South Asia's Bay of Bengal and during the history, the region was seen as both a threat and a source of income by the rulers who governed India. Bengal has been seen as a strategic region not only due to its shipping lanes and the ports at the Bay of Bengal in terms of trading during the history but also the rivers and the streams within the region provide many agricultural advantages. Due to its geographical location, Bengal attracts rulers' attention in India permanently and it became a common place for various cultures and beliefs. These features of the region have enabled significant numbers of religious and cultural artworks, which belong to different civilizations to reach present day. Key Words: Asia, India, Dehli, Bengal For the first time, an Islamic governance in political meaning was constituted by Muhammad Bakhtiyar Khalji with the permission of Sultan Qutbuddin Aibak of Delhi. Bengal which was ruled as a governorship of the Delhi Sultanate governed by Nawabs of Lakhnauti for approximately twenty years that started with Bakhtiyar Khalji to end of Ghiyasuddin Iwaz Khalji administration in 1227. Semsi melik's governance in Bengal started when Shamsuddin Iltutmish ascended the throne and this period was ended by the rebellion of Mughisuddin Tughral after the death of Melik Tatar Khan. The period of Balaban of the Delhi throne and then Khaljis dominated the Bengal governorship for the nearly fifty years. Tughlaq dominance in the Delhi Turkish Sultanate, which was started by Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq, weakened with Muhammed bin Tughlaq administration, this period resulted with Bengali alienation from Delhi and consideration of independence. After approximately five years of independence struggle, which was started by Fakhruddin Mubarak Shah in 1339, Bengal entered under Hindu Raca's rule after the Shamsuddin Iliyas Shah's successful management of the process.
