Abstract (EN)

By the end of the World War II there was a tendency to multiparty system in Turkey. Internal opposition in RPP became evident with the "Dörtlü Takrir" (i.e. Statement of theTetrads) and following the this event the Democratic Party was founded by Celal Bayar, Refik Koraltan, Fuad Köprülü and Adnan Menderes in 7 January Ocak1946. DP started an immediate movement of organization througout Turkey. The first election with multiparty system and direct sufrage in the history of Turkish Republic was held in 21 July 1946 and DP won 65 seats in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Following the four year of opposition period DP came into power with the elections held in 14 May 1950 and gained 408 seats in the Assembly. DP won all the seats alloted for Aydın province in 1950 elections. Inplaces of Adnan Menderes and Fuad Köprülü who prefered İstanbul deputyship and Fevzi Lütfi Karaosmanoğlu who prefered Manisa, Nail Geveci, Lütfi Ülkümen and Cevat Ülkü entered to the Assembly with the by-elections held in 16 September 1951. With Namık Gedik, Şevki Hasırcı, Ethem Menderes, A. Baki Ökdem 7 deputies from Aydın took part in various commissions in the Assembly. Following the DP's first period in power Adnan Menderes, Namık Gedik, Ethem Menderes, A. Baki Ökdem, Nail Geveci, Cevat Ülkü, Necati Çelim, Zühtü Uray and Nihat Eğriboz were elected as deputies of Aydın in the general elections held in 2 May 1954. Adnan Menderes prefered İstanbul deputyship. Aydın was represented with 8 deputy in the Assembly.In this period Aydın deputies under took important missions and took part in various commission in the Assembly.
