Propaganda in newsreels during the Democratic Party era

Propaganda has taken place in different forms in many areas as the development and change of people and society continued. So that the historical development of propaganda is related to the development of technology. The mass media being a part of social life has affected the use of propaganda. Propaganda realized the power of cinema, which is both a mass media and artistic creation. In the process of influencing and directing the masses, cinema is used for propaganda has played an important role. In this study on the relationship between cinema and propaganda, the concept of propaganda and the ways of using cinema as a mass media are examined. After examining the relationship of world cinema and Turkish cinema with propaganda in the context of propaganda, newsreels during the Democratic Party period were examined according to the rules of propaganda. In the theoretical part of the study, the concept of propaganda, historical, formal features, techniques, rules and propaganda in the context of the developments in Turkish politics in the Democratic Party period News films in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism are discussed. In accordance with the rules of propaganda, propaganda in the messages given by the news films to the audience/public opinion, elements were detected.
