Abstract (EN)

Developing Teacher Guide Materials For The Unit of Nervous and Endocrin Systems The teacher guide materials related to curriculum has been played an important role for constructing effective education and instructional situation. There is a neccessity in guided materials which is useable and extensive and based on student-centered teaching strategies in order to improve the professional skills of new biology teachers. The purpose of this study is to develop guided materials for teachers about the unit of nervous and endocrin systems of high school biology II curriculum. Data is collected by using questionnaire and interviews in this study. Interviews were conducted with 22 students, 4 teachers and 3 teacher educators. During this study 3 meeting was also organized with four participant teachers. Although teachers have positive attitudes towards the student-centered teaching methods which are worksheets, concept map, analogy and brainstorming, the time deficiency and university exam causes apply problems. According to the obtained data from student questionnaires, students taken biology lessons could not related the content to the daily life. Furthermore, it is concluded that guided materials developed are useful especially for new teachers. It is suggested that more related material based on concept mapping, worksheet, analogy and brainstorming are needed.Key words: Teacher guide materials, Teaching biology, Teaching program, Student- centered teaching methods
