Abstract (EN)
The effects of local ground conditions are important in the occurrence of structural damages during earthquakes. Liquefaction, especially observed in sandy grounds, plays an important role in the occurrence of such structural damages. In this sense, the phenomenon of liquefaction is of great importance for urban settlements. Turkey Earthquake Building Regulations enacted in 2018 (TBDY) brought the liquefaction analysis to determine the potential risk for the ZD, ZE and ZF soil class. Details of the analysis method that should be used in liquefaction evaluations are also defined in this regulation.
