Özet (EN)
Earthquakes are among the natural disasters with the highest risk of occurrence in our country. Deaths and injuries that occur after earthquakes have various consequences in terms of private law. In the event of death or injury in an earthquake, the heirs of the deceased and certain relatives of the deceased and injured persons, persons whose movable or immovable property has been damaged, have the right to request material and moral compensation. If death has occurred, the legal heirs of the deceased and persons such as cohabitants, children, parents and fiancé of the deceased who have lost their financial support may claim compensation for deprivation of support. Compensation for deprivation of support is a type of compensation that is frequently encountered in practice. Compensation for deprivation of support consists of compensating the damages incurred in the assets of the persons who were assisted by the deceased while he/she was alive or who are likely to be assisted in the future as a result of the death event. In order to claim this compensation, first of all, it is necessary to prove the deceased's current or possible future support to the person claiming the compensation. In addition to this, it must be proved that the supportee needs the care of the deceased support. In this study, which we prepared as a Master's thesis, the compensation for deprivation of support claimed after the earthquake is analyzed in terms of private law.
