Abstract (EN)

The earthquake that occurred on February 6, 2023, has gone down in history as the greatest disaster of the century, causing significant devastation and destruction. The earthquake has led to many problems for the people who experienced it. While dealing with physical and social issues, the survivors have also been exposed to psychological problems. Research suggests that there is a relationship between anxiety levels and psychological resilience among earthquake survivors. Furthermore, it is believed that anxiety levels and psychological resilience affect smoking and internet usage. Since Osmaniye is one of the provinces affected by the earthquake and transportation is easy, it is considered appropriate to form a sample for the research due to the ease of access. Additionally, there is no research in the literature that examines anxiety levels, psychological resilience, internet usage, and smoking together. Therefore, investigating the relationship between anxiety levels and psychological resilience, as well as smoking and internet usage among earthquake survivors, is believed to contribute to the literature. In this study, participants were administered the Sociodemographic Information Form, Beck Anxiety Inventory, Short Psychological Resilience Scale, Fagerström Nicotine Dependence Scale, and Young Internet Addiction Test. A negative relationship was found between the Beck Anxiety Inventory and the Short Psychological Resilience Scale. According to the regression analysis, there was a weak positive relationship between the Beck Anxiety Inventory and the Young Internet Addiction Test, while a strong negative relationship was found between the Short Psychological Resilience Scale and the Young Internet Addiction Test. A moderate positive relationship was observed between the Fagerström Nicotine Dependence Scale and the Young Internet Addiction Test.
