Monography of dereli

This study aims to compile and evaluate the folk literature and folklore products of Dereli District. Thus, a contribution will be made to the research on Turkish folklore with a specific focus on Dereli district of Giresun. This study, aimed at identifying the folkloric elements of Dereli, is a compilation work in general which involves combing, collecting and classifying the existing references, as well as doing field work and evaluating the findings. The study first makes an evaluation of the references for laying down the theoretical foundation and gives some information about the method of study. In the introduction, the issue has been put forward first, followed by a presentation of the purpose, significance, assumptions, and restrictions of the study. Then, under the title of method, the research model, data collection tools and techniques, data collection process, and data analysis have been presented as a compilation. The section on related literature provides brief information about the books, articles, and researches concerning Dereli. The section titled Findings and Comments presented the folk literature and folklore products found in Dereli District of Giresun. The materials which were compiled by way of field research were classified before being presented and evaluated. It was concluded at the end of the research that Dereli district of Giresun holds significant wealth with regard to the creation and transfer of the folk literature and folklore products.
