Özet (EN)
Pollutants in the content of wastewater produced as a result of leather production constitute a serious threat to living life and have the potential to create permanent damage to living things. For these reasons, the subject of this thesis is based on the treatment of tannery wastewater. In this thesis, advanced treatment methods were applied in order to increase the removal efficiency provided by conventional treatment methods. In the experimental study, leather industry wastewater was taken from a leather processing factory in Izmir. The aim of this study is to determine the efficiency of the treatment by considering the pollution parameters in the Water Pollution Control Regulation which is considered in the discharge of the leather industry wastewater. With the application of electrochemical, ultrasonic and sonoelectrochemical systems, treatment of the leather industry wastewater was carried out. In this thesis, an original treatment system has been designed with hybrid (sonoelectrochemical) application of electrochemical and ultrasonic systems in order to increase the removal efficiency. After these treatment processes, toxicities were evaluated in the conditions where the best removal efficiencies were achieved.
