Abstract (EN)
The aim of this thesis is to move environmental problems to an axis based on existence rather than ethical evaluation by considering the Deep Ecology view of Arne Næss, one of the important philosophers of the 20th century who works in the field of environmental philosophy, within the framework of Descartes and Heidegger's philosophy of being. In this study, in which we compare the effects of both philosophers understanding of being with the view of deep ecology within the framework of their understanding of human and nature, Descartes and Heidegger's perspectives on being are first put forward and then their understanding of human and nature are presented. At the end of the study, it was concluded that Descartes understanding of being, human and nature shaped the shallow ecology view, while Heidegger's understanding of being, human and nature shaped the deep ecology view. The deep ecology view of Arne Næss, one of the most important environmental philosophers of the 20th century, which has influenced many thinkers working on the environment today, continues to show its influence as a movement that attracts attention with its wide repercussions and speculations on the postmodern environmental understanding.
