Abstract (EN)

Lornoxicam, a member of the classical oxicam group, is a non-steroidal anti- inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic effects, widely used in the treatment of mild to moderate pain associated with inflammation. In this thesis study, a capillary electrophoresis (CE) method was developed for the quantitative determination of lornoxicam in pharmaceutical preparations. Rutin was used as the internal standard. Parameters such as buffer pH, buffer type, detection wavelength, and applied voltage were investigated, and the optimal conditions for the determination of lornoxicam were established. These conditions were determined as follows: 10 mM sodium tetraborate buffer at pH 9.24, injection time of 1 s, applied voltage of 25 kV, and detection wavelength of 380 nm. Under the specified conditions, the migration times were observed to be 3.56 ± 0.035 min (n = 6) for lornoxicam and 4.01 ± 0.044 min (n = 6) for the internal standard. The developed method was found to be linear within the concentration range of 1.77 × 10−5 – 1.06 × 10−4 M. Thanks to its high separation efficiency, short analysis time, and low sample and reagent consumption, the proposed method could be considered an effective and reliable alternative analytical technique for pharmaceutical quality control applications.
