Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this study was to design an iontophoretic device, which is called "CAKAY CAA-89" to penetrate the model drug lidocaine from rat skin. For this study we demonstrated that lidocaine iontophoresis is safe and significantly increases satisfaction when compared with the control group, which is a non current application with Lidocaine. The amount of Lidocaine in rat plasma showed a statistically significant difference between the control group and iontophoretic application; p<0.05. The iontophoretic applications were applied to rat skin HCl 10 mg/kg for less than 120 minutes for 2 mA/min. The rats were anesthetized. Then, each rat was applied with the current 2 mA for respectively 60, 90, and 120 minute time intervals. Three rats were placed without current for 120 minutes in subjects (Control). Each procedure was performed in a total of 12 rats in different four groups. Statistical analysis was performed by ANOVA. Test results were expressed as mean standard deviation of the mean. P-values less than 0.05 were considered to be significant. We have concluded that the device works correctly and safety with the electrical conduction of the ions. Our study used a small iontophoretic dose as 2 mA/min. This may explain the infrequent incidence of discomfort reported in our rats, as well as the absence of burns and erythematous streaks. "This device was modified to function with a constant ampere so that the voltage can be varied, depending upon the resistance of the skin area being treated. The result of this stuation decreased the possibility of electric shocks
