Abstract (EN)
From the Tanzimat to the present, the state bureaucracy and the political institution under its control from time to time have always had a relationship with religion. In the institutional sense, religion took its place in the establishment process of the Republic. Bureaucratic actors have tried to direct the society according to their own religious perceptions. Religious groups and communities that went beyond the traditional perception of religion were followed, tried to be controlled, and suspended from work, duty or school according to the dynamics of the age. In the process of February 28, the state bureaucracy led by the military tutelage put pressure on the political institution, and on the grounds that secularism and the regime were in danger, in the name of fighting against reaction in the public arena, religious appearances such as headscarves and religious education institutions were eliminated, restricted, marginalized and deprived of them. has led to tensions. In this process, the elected were unable to resist the anti-democratic pressures and practices of the bureaucratic tutelage, and a significant part of the society was deprived of some fundamental rights and freedoms. The postmodern coup of February 28 had a negative impact on all segments of society in areas such as education, working life, economy and political institution. This study aims to reveal the bureaucracy's understanding of religion, its view of religion and its effects on society during the February 28 process.
